| I don't think i have left an entry in a real long time. So after not really doing anything the last 2 weekends might have been a bad idea. But having a vacation or two was real nice. Although i think i may be painting all week, seeing as how i have 3 projects to do in one week. So i have been talking to one of my brothers from SLT about close friendships between males and females and if they are a good idea or not. Andy showed me this article about close and/or intimate friendships and the differences there, and he showed me this interesting article found online at http://www.boundless.org/2005/articles/a0001200.cfm, so you should check it out and let me know what you all think about it? | | |
| i had a real good conversation with a friend tonight, she did a real good job of kind of reinforcing those things that i knew but didn't really want to accept. It's good to have friends that give you good advice and tell you what you should do, and even give real life examples from their life. So i need to put some thought into it, and takes some action in stepping down in at least one role of my life. i feel that i am now officially addicted to text messages, silly jordan. i also got to hang out with my former boyfriend (shoulda checked facebook last week) andy on the quad today, but its cool we're totally still friends. I applied for an assistant scenic artist at Shakespeare Festival as a summer job, so basically i would be painting all summer and in charge of a paint crew perhaps. unfortunetly it is like ridiculous hour almost 60 a week for not miuch pay, but it would be good to get proffesional experience for the resume. well i should get some sleep i have a long week of painting and making a portfolio. | | |
| So i finally hit the big 21. I don't really feel any older or anything, but my birthday was defininetly a good time. I got to hang out with some super cool friends, and went roller skating. It was also pretty nice of Andy to be the only guy at dinner, and be gentlemanly enough to pray for the meal. So i didn't remember that roller skating is pretty hard. And there were all these little kids that kept running into us, but luckily i didn't fall. It was also pretty amazing to see Sarah this weekend, well actually 2 weekends in a row, which like happens never. I also went to fuel tonight and learned about some sweet missions work going on in North Aftrica, and had a deep convo with miss boydstun at fiesta ranchera. In case your interested here are the things i have learned this weekend, jello shots are not so amazing, at least the one i had tasted kinda like cough syrup. However margaritas, and mud slides are delicious. Also sometimes christians can be the ones that push others away from Christ. sad but true. Also i learned that my friends give awesome birthday gifts like shag blankets, and tinkerbell shirts. | | |
| After worship team Bible study i was kinda thinking, although this isn't completly related to the study, but I am think that God is way misunderstood by people today. Like i am fairly sure that most people think that God is up there just judging us and giving us rules to follow or he is non existant, That God tries to smite us with things like tsunamis, hurricanes, and such. I was just thinking about how inaccurate of a picture of God this is. Like how it is taking out one of the most important and essential part of the character of God, his love. God doesn't sit around and judge us, he loves us, regardless of anything we do. God loves us the same if we live for him 100 percent or deny him and live for ourselves. So where do we get our impression of God? And what misconceptions do we have or are we believing? So i hope this post was somewhat helpful to ya and got ya thinking and made some sense. | | |
| Val and Jordan Springbreak Extravaganza 2006 was a success i feel. It started in extreme suspense of watching the first 24 season. We did a marathon and started with 5 of us, but only 3 of us were strong enough to make it to the end. So its probably bad when your exercise for the day is getting up to get food in between episodes. I wouldn't really recommend watching a whole season of 24 in 2 days. I played killer bunnies, a very interesting game were bunnies kill each other with food processors and such, although i didn't play enough to get addicted. Jordan and i ventured up to chicago to see wicked and we only got lost like 3 times, its hard to drive on those roads with all the construction, lane changes, and highways with multiple names somehow though we made it there with a whole 7 minutes to spare. Then we went to the grand rapids and arrived there at like 3 am, really great planning on our part. Grand Rapids was definetly a super great time though. So lets see what i learned over spring break.
1. Plain White T's song, Hey there Delilah, is totally amazing and never leaves your head 2. Chicago drivers really are mean, its not just a rumor (watch out for the taxi's) 3. Killer Bunnies is actually a fun game although it sounds real odd 4. Its possible to have a great break without having any bags of fire 5. Unplugging the right cord is very important when trying to leave the fridge running (cuz week old melted ice cream smells real real real bad) 6. Larry really likes board games and has a whole room full of them
I think i am going to stop procrastinating now, i need to study or sleep
